I can only speak for myself, but I am most definitely a creature of habit. I am a self-proclaimed CLI junkie. A CLI junkie is a hard person to change in this world of cloud and infrastructure as code. Being this creature of habit, I am setting out on a journey to see – can you teach an old dog new tricks?
Let’s journey back to a meeting in 2015 I was in. Being a network guy, I understood the cloud. I have previously worked with cloud and security teams, building infrastructure to accelerate the organization’s move to the cloud. In this meeting, I heard about a product called Terraform. In my mind, I naively thought that I would never have to worry about this, so why am I in a meeting about it? Fast forward to today, and I find myself needing to learn Terraform, amongst other things.
Why am I doing this now? Well besides the need for me to want to be able to
There are things that I am working on that require me to have a repeatable way of deploying into all three public clouds. Truth be told, I have some experience with AWS and have been in and out of it since 2012. I plan on this also being a journey to learn AWS. Dig into Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). I looked in the way back machine, and I did cover what is this cloud thing I keep hearing about, where I cover the basics of cloud computing.
So buckle up and enjoy the ride! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to me on Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon or in the comments below
